Join us at Yerkes for a special open house experience on Friday, July 31 from 6pm – 8pm! We’re pleased to welcome The Wonders of Physics outreach team from the UW-Madison Department of Physics, where they’ll be providing a family friendly and engaging physics demonstration show to kick off the evening. Following the Wonders of Physics show, the observatory will be open for your chance to explore our exhibits, check out some more fascinating physics demonstrations, and see the world’s largest refracting telescope in person. The Wonders of Physics show and open house will take place rain or shine. The event does not include use of telescopes within the building. Reservations are required, and tickets must be purchased in advance. Parking will be on-site at the observatory. Guests driving and parking at the observatory must purchase tickets prior to the event.
