Communications and Marketing Lead
We are searching for a Communications and Marketing Lead who will be responsible for connecting with audiences near and far by sharing the Yerkes story and brand to drive engagement, visitation, and relationships.
Responsibilities include all aspects of envisioning, creating, and executing external communications (regular social media, website, e-news, e-vites, video content, press relations and visits, press releases, constituent communications) as well as internal communications (board and staff messaging, documenting events and programs, creating invitations, etc). The Communications and Marketing Lead personally creates Yerkes content by working in close collaboration with colleagues and by finding the right external experts, connections, and contractors to amplify the institution’s presence and voice.
This position mainly works onsite, though partial remote work is possible. Occasional night and weekend hours are required to document events and programs. The workload varies depending on the season and projects at hand.

Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper (part-time)
We are searching for an accountant / senior bookkeeper who will be responsible for an array of duties including payroll, reconciliations, and general non-profit financials. This position will be in collaboration with our long-time volunteer accountant as our organization transitions duties over time to this newly created, in-house staff member.

Grounds & Maintenance Staff (part-time)
Yerkes is looking for a seasonal, part-time Grounds & Maintenance staff member for a regular schedule of 16-24 hrs/week during our busy summer and early fall seasons.
Pay: $18 – $22 per hour depending on experience.
Hours will vary based on your availability, our need, and the season/needs at Yerkes. There are occasional evenings and weekends for special events which are scheduled in advance.
You will be working mostly outdoors reporting to our full-time facilities staff. Duties include general landscape care and maintenance, light building maintenance, and similar work around the Yerkes campus and inside its historic buildings.
A focus on safety is important to us. We also hope you’ll have prior experience in landscape, maintenance or light construction work, and experience with equipment like power tools and landscape equipment. Key to us here at Yerkes is reliability, responsibility, and a positive outlook. We’re a small team and rely on one another.
