Calling all K-12 educators! We’re pleased to announce that we will once again host our popular educator professional development workshops during Summer 2026. Participants in this event will tour the observatory, connect with regional like-minded educators, learn how to facilitate and receive materials for a hands-on activity, and attend a lunch-and-learn session that explores techniques for authentically incorporating science into your classroom. This workshop is perfect for both formal and informal educators, and all are welcome to register!

The workshops will take place on the following dates from 10am – 1pm at Yerkes Observatory. Educators at any level are welcome to attend either session. The content is geared toward K-12 educators, and the same content will be presented on both days.

  • July 14
  • July 21

For educators that participated in previous workshops, the activity and lunch-and-learn session will contain new material. Reservations are required, and the cost for this workshop is $50 per educator. There are a set number of fee waivers available, so please reach out to Mallory Conlon (mconlon@yerkesobservatory.org) if you need financial assistance.
